White Washed Oak Table and Chairs
I found this oak dining table and chairs on market place for our kitchen eating nook. I knew I was going to revive with paint since I really don’t care for the dated orange oak from the 90’s. In fact our kitchen cabinets are the same orange oak and I will be painting them later this year.
The table had an extension but was so badly gouged that I decided not to bother refinishing it. Well our eating area is not large enough for the table with the leaf inserted anyway, so it really didn’t matter. But both the table and chairs required a fair amount of sanding for smooth scratch free surfaces.
GOOD BYE ORANGE OAK!
I just love the look of white washed oak, and that is how I wanted the top done. After white washing I also sanded back a tiny bit so more of the wood grain would show through. I painted the base and chairs with a No VOC flat latex Behr paint, mixed with paint transformer.
I love this transformation! Now a beautifully revived table and chairs that are light, bright and cheerful!
